Welcome to the Academia SóLeiftri!
The unique bond between horses and humans is the driving force behind the deep and transformative learning experience at our academy. Founded by Lynn Kirsch, a specialist in horse training and equine-assisted educational therapy, we offer a holistic and personalized experience built on years of knowledge and expertise. Since 2020, Lynn has cultivated a special connection with her Icelandic horses, Leiftri and Sól, who are not only her trusted and highly trained partners, but also the heart of the academy.
Beyond conventional methods, we continuously strive to innovate by combining equine-assisted educational therapy and professional horsetraining focussed on groundwork. Our vision is to provide a unique and ongoing learning journey in which every student can rediscover the world of horses from a new perspective and in all its richness.
Career
Throughout her career, Lynn has completed over 80 specialized courses related to the world of horses, offered by renowned institutions in Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, and Italy. She has had the privilege of learning from experts in equestrian sport through both in-person and online formats, including at respected institutions such as the Kölner Pferde-Akademie in Germany.
Her approach is centered on understanding the horse as a whole and continually developing methods that not only enhance performance, but also support the animal’s overall well-being. This has enabled her to deepen her expertise in key areas such as equine health, nutrition, psychology, ethology, and training science.
Her education also includes a specialization in equine-assisted educational therapy, which she completed at the training center “Lernen mit Pferden” in Austria. This specialization forms a fundamental pillar of her holistic view of the horse.
Since 2018, Lynn has worked intensively with horses and people, continuously refining her methods to adapt them effectively to therapeutic and educational contexts. To this day, she remains committed to expanding her knowledge and exploring new ways to enrich the equestrian world — for both the horses and the people.
Our Team

Lynn Kirsch
Hello, I’m Lynn. I’m Luxembourgish and have devoted myself to the world of horses with passion and dedication for over twenty years. I work as a trainer in the field of equine-assisted education and horsetraining where specialize in groundwork. My vocation is to build authentic connections between horses and humans. With a solid background in various areas of the equestrian world, I look forward to sharing my passion and knowledge with all those who love horses.

Leiftri vom Hofgut Retzenhöhe
Leiftri is an Icelandic horse born in Germany in 2015. Since 2020, he has been my loyal companion and is well trained in both groundwork and riding. Despite his somewhat reserved nature, Leiftri stands out for his kind and charming character and naturally playful spirit. He especially enjoys trail rides and affectionate attention.

Sól frá Borgarnesi
Sól is an Icelandic mare born in Iceland in 2015 and has been part of my team since 2020. Her curious and lively personality, along with her love for people, makes her a cheerful and friendly companion. Sól is always full of energy and her own ideas. She loves learning tricks and, of course, treats. She is also well trained in both groundwork and riding.

In Memory of Óðinn vom Nordlichthof
Óðinn was my first Icelandic horse, born in 2013 and taken from us far too soon. He was more than a companion — he was my teacher. Every challenge he presented shaped my work with horses and my perspective on partnership and relationship with them. His influence continues to guide me in every step of my journey.
Thank you, Óðinn, for being my inspiration and my mentor.
SóLeiftri
In honor of my two Icelandic horses, the name of the academy is composed of “Sól,” which means “sun” in Icelandic, and “Leiftri,” which means “radiant” or “shining.” Together, the two names carry the special meaning of “Radiant Sun.”
Just as these two horses illuminate every moment at the academy, we aim to bring that same light to the faces of our clients — whether human or horse — and create unforgettable moments between them.
In the spirit of our motto:
“Shine with your true essence, overcome your own limits, and do not compare yourself to others.”
A personal touch: The “L” in Italian script symbolizes my identity as the founder, while the “ó” is dedicated to my first Icelandic horse, Óðinn.
